Green Tea for Me

Though I’ll mainly be posting about alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, etc.) along with food (and by itself!), today, I thought I’d share with you my favorite non-alcoholic hot beverage, green tea. For me, green tea is the perfect drink for any occasion. Much of the time, I’ll replace coffee with caffeinated green tea so that I get both the kickstart of coffee and the health benefits of green tea. I also find that decaf green tea is a great late night reading drink, and any variation of the tea makes me feel ten times better any time I’m sick. Green tea is high in antioxidants, and several studies suggest that it may also be associated with reduced heart disease. The internet is full of claims about green tea; several are very true, some are debatable, and some might be completely made up, but I urge you to take a look around. I’ve heard that it speeds up metabolism, thereby assisting in weight loss, but I’m not sure how true that is. (Though so many intellectuals turn their noses up at Wikipedia, I’ve found it’s an incredible and surprisingly accurate source for most things.)

Drinking my favorite brand of green tea (Organic & Pure) out of my favorite mug, found at Goodwill. The best part is, I have no “F” in my name, nor does any significant part of my life have to do with the letter “F.” I think that’s why I love it so much. It’s just the F-mug.
