I think it’s only appropriate to use my daily breakfast as the first food post. I’m not what you would call a “morning person,” so my breakfast needs to be quick and easy since I waste so much time hitting the snooze. While most easy breakfasts would seem unhealthy, like a bowl of sugary cereal or a Pop Tart, I’ve found one that’s easy, healthy, and absurdly delicious.
This tasty breakfast includes:
Chocolate granola w/ soymilk (brand: Back to Nature)
Vegetarian “bacon,” which I have dubbed “facon” (brand: Morningstar Farms)
Pre-made fruit smoothie (brand: Bolthouse farms)
I personally can’t stand the smell (or taste…obviously) of real bacon, but this fake bacon tastes, looks, and smells different enough that I know for sure I’m not eating meat, but something about it definitely completes a morning meal. It is made with eggs, so it does contain protein (yippee!).
The granola has a small amount of chocolate chunks mixed in with it; it’s not so many that it makes this cereal unhealthy, but it gives that nice morning kick of sweetness that you would normally get from a chemical-filled Lucky Charms type cereal.
And the smoothie is extremely tasty, and has those several servings of fruit that are difficult to get during a busy day. Bolthouse Farms makes a variety of flavors, but the Berry is my favorite. The Kiwi one is great too, and if I’m not mistaken, that one also contains vegetable servings.
Now you’ll have the energy to power walk to work like I do! (Only because I hit the snooze one too many times)
